Geocache Description:

20.09.2008 Time to put this historical cache an the hosting hotel to rest.

This cache will take you to the end of the World War II. The Control Commission of the Allied Powers (i.e. Soviet Union) for Finland resided here.

The Commission was gathered after the peace treaty was signed between the Soviet Union, England and Finland in Moscow. The period when the Commission was staying here was to be found on a sign attached to the building. The sign was stolen in the autumn 2003; maybe it will be returned...

To verify your visit ask the reception WHICH PARTS OF THE BUILDING were reserved for the commission! Don't post your answers here but e-mail them to me. And please!! Dont' bother sending web search -results, they dont count.

Be sure to refresh yourself at altitude 78 meters/12th floor. Whatever you do check the toilets there. THAT IS A MUST for everyone in Helsinki, local or traveller.
