A bushland cache, easy walk in from a marked track. Cache is very close in to the edge of the track, so there is no need to walk very far off the path. Be careful with the cache, it is a bit delicate.
Please remember to tie the cache shut with the piece of wire as the latch is broken. The cache is hidden in Trigg Bushland. This is a great place to visit in spring for minature orchids, mostly Donkey orchids. Lots of banksia and blackboys through here while the big Tuarts and Marris provide hollows for Lorikeets and Twenty-Eight parrots, as well as Boobook Owls. The Rainbow Bee Eater, a bird which nests in the ground, is known to frequent the area in very small numbers from September to January when the dragonflies provide them with food. Further east along the same path, you can see small Sundews which are carnivourous plants. Look for small round clusters of red leaves at the shoulders of the track. The leaves are coated in hairs which catch unsuspecting insects. A remanent of bushland in suburbia, sadly a bit degraded with weeds. The cache itself is in a grey plastic box which contains a modified dvd drive holding the paper logbook, writing stick included. Leave the plastic bag the cache is inside-it protects the sensitive electronics inside. Please read the instructions and don't forget to turn it off when finished. Replace the blutack- it stops the logbook falling inside. There are some toy cars for the geokids to trade as well as a cache in trash out bag.
