Geocache Description:

Located on the Horizon Rock Trail, which is part of the beautiful Ice Age Trail that runs through this park. Trailhead coordinates below with good parking right across the park road from this spot. (This is also a good spot to hit the Potholes Trail, on the opposite side of the road from this cache, which is in the State Natural Area.) Cross the small wooden bridge, and the cache is a short distance from there. Regular size cache with room for swag and small trackables.

Daily or yearly park sticker required. Park hours are 6am-11pm. During cross-country ski season, please keep off the groomed trails. There is hunting allowed in parts of the park during the 9-day deer season at the end of November and a few days in the spring during turkey hunting. Just be aware of your surroundings.

Have fun!

About Interstate State Park

Interstate is Wisconsin's oldest state park, established in 1900. Located along the picturesque St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, the park provides scenic views of the river and the steep-sided gorge known as the Dalles of the St. Croix. The Ice Age Interpretive Center features a film, photographs, murals, and information about the great glaciers. There are over 9 miles of hiking trails in the park, many which take you through scenic State Natural Areas.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to the park manager at Interstate State Park. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained at the Wisconsin DNR website.
