Red Herring? Traditional Cache
Fair Sir D: After trying several different types of cache here I've had to admit defeat and decide to archive this well visited site. Unfortunately the caches were disappearing with great regularity and needing replaced.

Lerwick Town Hall was built during a period of expansion in the town due to the wealth brought by the herring industry. It was designed by Alexander Ross and is situated at the highest point of the town, deliberately facing west to the new town with its back to the old town. The building was complete in 1884 with the clock in the tower being a later addition having been presented by the Town Council in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee.
This was a magnetic nanocache but unfortunately due to the cache disappearing on a regular basis, it has now been replaced by a decoy cache. Hopefully it won't disappear! Please bring your own pen for signing the log. This is an area of high muggle activity so geocachers should take care when seeking this cache!
