Washington Island Barn Quilt-Sievers School
Sievers School of Fiber Arts is an internationally known, three-season visual arts and crafts school on Washington Island in Door County, WI.
Founded in 1979, Sievers has maintained a reputation for its outstanding faculty, small class size, and a special kind of place
-- where people come together in a nurturing environment to discover or refresh their creative spirit. Not only does the school offer classes in quilting, but also in the areas of basketry, weaving, knitting, felting, dyeing and many other fiber arts.
This cache will bring you to a barn quilt that isn’t part of the Door County Barn Quilt project or on their list, yet is a beautiful addition to the series to include while exploring them. To be part of that project, the location has to be a family-owned farm. The name of this quilt block is “Jackson Star for Jackson Studio on Jackson Harbor Road.
The cache is intended to be completely handicap-accessible and will be except in time of deep snow banks. Watch the traffic on Jackson Harbor Road! This cache is placed with the permission of owners Butch and Ann Young and manager Cindra Hokkanen (Mrs. Northwoods Tom). Don’t expect to get any answers from her on any of my other caches, as she had no part in my devilishness…
