Geocache Description:

You've all heard the legend of the Lover's Leap. Where is your local Leap.

The coordinates of this cache are not the actual coordinates. Read the rest of the description.

Growing up there was a certain cliff my family would drive by and my mom and dad would retell the story of the Lover's Leap. The two star crossed lovers who's families wouldn't let them marry so instead the jumped to their death off this cliff.

As I got older I figured out this was a common story told at different spots in differnt versions. Just the other day while going over some maps I leared that the cliff my parents pointed out is indeed named "Lover's Leap". I'm sure there are more out there.

To get credit for this virtual cache you need to:

  • take a photo of your local "Lover's Leap.
  • take a photo of the leap with you and the gps visible
  • provide the coordinates of the leap

If your local version includes an extra special detail, like specific names or a historical connection. Please share the story with us. Enjoy!

george and mary

I have changed the cache so that each leap can be claimed more than once.. You may, in fact, I recomend, that you use coordinates provided by others to claim the same lovers leap. Just as long as you post a new set of photos at the leap.
