Designed by county architect W H Henry, Abercromby Primary School was built in 1951, the first traditional post-war school of its kind in Clackmannan District. It has spacious grounds, with good provision for recreation. The school has very pleasant surroundings and outlook and the building is well maintained. A wildlife garden provides a valuable resource for environmental education.
The building accommodates 16 classrooms, leading from one long corridor with easy access to a wide, paved terrace which extends the whole length of the classes and can be used for outdoor teaching. In addition there is a dining room with servery, a gymnasium and a very grand assembly hall.
In 1985 a purpose-built 30 place nursery unit was opened. The nursery building is pyramid shaped and provides a very flexible, functional spacious interior with a first class outdoor play area. The nursery unit has since been extended to accommodate a maximum of 60 children in the morning and 60 children in the afternoon. Each session has a mixture of pre-school children and pre-pre-school children.
The cache is placed within the War Memorial Park.  In October 1921, nearly 3,000 people witnessed the unveiling of the Tullibody and Cambus war memorial.  The large boulder is known as Samson’s Button, with, set into it, a replica of the stone cross which commemorated Kenneth MacAlpine’s victory over the Picts in AD 834.  The memorial is also used as a school emblem on blazers, jumpers and t-shirts.
