This cache was put here to replace the original "Interlochen Pines Nature Trail" geocache that was abandoned by the owner, and archived. Access to this geocache is either by entering the State Park(entry fee or park sticker "P" on your Michigan License Plate), or by parking on the roadside on the road south of the park property. PARKING HINT: PARK BY THE BIG LEANING TREE - MUCH EASIER WALK !!! Also, "cache" the other geocache on the northern part of this park !!
This geocache is on a beautiful nature trail in the oldest State park in Michigan. Take the time to walk the 1 mile trail and enjoy the huge but aging pines. BEWARE - THERE ARE NUMEROUS FALLEN TREES DOWN ACROSS THE TRAIL. Also, please remove any trash that you may find along the way so that others may enjoy the scenic trail area.
DESCRIPTION: Located in a beautiful northern Michigan State park. during your hike, check out the size of some of the red & white pines and also the size of the hemlocks. Container is a plastic ammo box with the usual toys and items, and a logbook. Bring the kids along, this trail has numerous trees down across it so the kids will be ready for bed tonight !! The trail system is fairly close to camp
PLEASE HIDE THIS BACK WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE - I KEEP FINDING IT RIGHT OUT IN THE OPEN WHERE IT CAN BE FOUND BY THE WRONG PERSON AND STOLEN. This geocache was here for several years, but was archived because the owner was unable to be located. This replacement cache was created for all to continue to enjoy the trail.
