Come join members of Maryland Geocaching Society family at Bohrer Park for a Cache in Trash Out (CITO) and Picnic Event on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 9:00 AM. The MGS held their annual CITO here in 2010 and the Ciy of Gaithersburg has asked if we could once again come and help clean the park. The posted coordinates are for the picnic site where we will be meeting and also holding the potluck, child waypoints for the park entrance and parking are below.
This is an excellent opportunity to give back to Mother Earth by picking up and removing trash from the park. It's also a great way to thank the City of Gaithersburg for their support of geocaching in their city parks and also for participating as a location for the Maryland Municipal League (MML) Geotrail.
Bohrer Park contains several open fields, a playground area, a horseshoe pit, a volleyball net, and two ponds along with a miniature golf course, an activity center, a skate park and a water park. The park also contains the oldest standing building in the City of Gaithersburg: The Log Smoke House.
After the work is finished there will be plenty of time to relax in the Park Pavilion and enjoy a great potluck picnic, there are two grills and electric at the pavilion. There will also hopefully be a few new geocaches to find in the park
Trash bags, pick-up sticks, rubber gloves and a net for the pond will be provided. Items that will come in handy include leather gloves, old sturdy sneakers or knee boots, and handi-grabbers.
