This cache was placed for a geocaching experience for the Webelos during Illowa Council Kittan District Cub Scout Day Camp 2013 - SPACE COWBOYS at Whispering Pines and Hickory Hills area in Scott County Park with the permission of Ranger Dave. Scott County Park is open to the public and this is a very busy park, so use your stealth and be respectful of others using the areas or have them rented out.
I placed this cache to help two of my boy scouts from Troop 46, LeClaire Iowa complete their geocaching merit badge by hosting a geocaching event for the Webelos Scouts who attended day camp. It is part of their maps and compasses expanded experience. There was originally a $1 coin to remind us how priceless our public lands are, a 1 1/2 inch wood screw to remind us of the 200 Wood Duck Nesting boxes we made at camp (12 are placed around Scott County Park), and a house shaped carabiner to remind us that this world is our home, let's stay connected to it. The cache was originally placed near the Hickory Hills Shelter for the actual Day Camp, but has been relocated to it's current position to maintain the .1 mil distance guidelines between geocaches.
