Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Black River Falls School Forest.  If you are lucky enough to have an elementary age child, he or she will no doubt be able to tell you all about some of the outdoor learning they have done at the school forest.  The elementary students enjoy everything from forestry education to building shelter, snowshoeing to lumberjack olympics and creative writing to campfire safety.

The Black River Falls School Forest is located within the Black River Falls School District and is surrounded by Jackson County forest land.  The school forest consists of 40 acres and is located in the Town of Brockway.  In 1967 Jackson County transferred power of the 40 acre parcel to the City of Black River Falls and the Towns of Adams, Albion and Brockway for use as a public dumping ground.  Resolutions passed in 1974 by the Towns of Adams, Albion and Brockway allowed the land to be used as a school forest.  Land use agreements between the school district and Jackson County have been signed since 1977 allowing the school district use of the surrounding county forest land.  A School Forest Advisory Committee was created in 2002 and strives to continue natural resource management and impove educational programming on the land.

You are looking for a camo peanut butter jar.  It contains a log and kid friendly swag.  Don't let the gate at the road fool you, the property is open to the public.
