Treehouse Log Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

elinelson013: Sorry it has taken me so long to check on my caches. I went and checked all of my hides and they are either not in the right spot or broken. I will be moving a few miles away and I can't take care of these caches so I'm archiving all of them to open up these great spots for someone who can maintain more active hides. I'm glad people have enjoyed these, and I hope people make fun geocaches to replace them. Thanks and have fun!

Geocache Description:

Hide By: elinelson013 and newbrightonkids

We were hiding this cache when a kid comes out of nowhere and says, "What are you doing?"
"Just looking around." I replied.
"Oh," he said. "There used to be a treehouse in that tree there."
I looked where he was pointing and saw that there were nails still in the tree. That's odd, why would the nails be there, but no wood?
The boy continued, "They burnt it off."
Oh. But why burn it? The tree looked fine, although a little scorched.  But I didn't see why the park would burn a tree house off a tree.  And if it wasn't the park, how would unauthorized people burn down a treehouse and leave the tree mostly untouched?  And again, why?  The boy went away, and I climbed the tree. I looked out onto the top of the the branch where the treehouse was previously, and saw that the branch was nearly coated with nails.  So, I guess they really couldn't just rip out the nails and take off the wood.
Please re-hide cache just as you found it.
(Note: The cache is NOT in the tree. It's right next to it.)
