Dwight D. Eisenhower was the only president who served in World War I and World War II. He worked at an in-law's creamery and moonlighted as a fireman to help pay his brother Edgar's tuition at the University of Michigan. They had a deal where they would switch places after two years, but Edgar never had to fulfill his part of the deal. Dwight was appointed to the US Military Academy at West Point where tuition was free.
