Every once in a while something so wonderful comes along that you decide you simply must attend! This is it! This year we invite the greater Houston area and SETX geocaching community to join us in a CITO on and around the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Center for a chance to give back to the community. The Baytown Geocaching Block Party CITO is free for attendees and garbage bags will be provided the attendees. No matter how long you’ve been geocaching this is your chance to rub shoulders with the areas most renowned geocachers!
Starting at 9AM, the CITO is followed by the Block Party!
The Center: The Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Center is owned and operated by the City of Baytown. This innovative facility, located on the banks of Goose Creek, opened in January of 1998 and is an official site on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail. The Wetlands Center encompasses 14,000 square feet and serves several functions, in addition to providing office space for staffers. Facilities include a Science Lab, a Computer Lab, a meeting room that can accommodate up to 100 people, plus the 9,000 square foot Robert M. Craig Exhibit Hall. The Wetlands Center features a variety of exhibits. Gator World, with its juvenile alligators and large wetlands mural, is always a favorite with visitors young and old. Wetlands Center staff provide tours as time permits, or visitors can take a self-guided tour. Through education and recreation, the Wetlands Center aims to increase awareness, appreciation and understanding of wetlands, the environment and cultural history.
Please post a WILL ATTEND note!
Please remember the golden rule of geocaching - have a safe time and pick up a little trash!
*It's a wonderful thing when people come together to accomplish a task.
