SOUTHERN SUN CACHE
The cache is named for the equine rescue operation run by my family members who live nearby. You may see some of them out for a ride while you are visiting.
Although I live hundreds of miles away, we are frequent visitors to the area. Relatives & friends will keep an eye on the cache for me.
Coordinates on this one are as close as I could get them. I tried on two different days with two different GPS units. Because of this, I will tell you to turn off of the Blue Ridge Parkway onto a gravel road. If you are driving, you will see where you can park out of the way of any infrequent vehicles that might pass by. That should be enough to get you to the general area. If you need more than that, check the encrypted hint.
Cache should not be not hard to find but could be a bit tricky to retrieve and replace. It might actually be easier with 2 people. Please be careful handling the cache and be sure to close it securely. If you drop the contents and can't easily retrieve them yourself (as this could possibly involve barbed wire and/or trespassing), just let me know and I'll have someone stop by to pick them up. Please replace the cache container so as to allow as little movement as posssible. Secure placement will ensure a longer life in this potentially harsh environment.
If you are the First-To-Find, look for a small Ziploc bag with a custom-made reward, created by fellow geocacher Ask Bob.
