Geocache Description:

It's time for an Old Silo Series--Northern Tour-Old Silo#39, silo{actually a 1/2 stone silo} is to the southeast.

We loved the old silo series by Mister Greenthumb and Sunshine so realized it was time for an old silo series up our way-a joint effort between Hearty Soles and Lacknothing. Growing up on a farm, old silos bring back good memories of days gone by.

And of course borrowed from the orignal silo series:
Silo Fact: The word silo means "cellar." Before silos, corn was stored in cellars.

Silo Fact: Why are all silos the same general shape, width and height? It was determined in the 1920's that anything taller or wider would result in too much loss due to mold.

Silo Fact: In 1923 there were 100,000 silos in Wisconsin, the most in any state. New York was second with only 23,000.

Please post pictures as you find the silos.
