A Tribute to Nagasaki
This cache was placed on the morning of August 9, 2013. At approximately this time 68 years ago to the date, the United States dropped an atomic bomb called "Fat Boy" on the city of Nagasaki, Japan, killing at least 36,000 people instantly and destroying about 90% of all buildings in the city. This was the 2nd atomic bomb that was dropped on Japan in less than a week (Hiroshima was bombed on Aug. 6). Approximately 80,000 people were killed in Nagasaki and a total of 166,000 there and in Hiroshima. The Japanese surrendered following this event, more or less putting an end to World War II.
This cache is placed in honor of those who were killed during WWII in all countries around the World.
