Although not an official part of the Door County Barn Quilt project, this quilt was placed on the new barn built in 2013 to replace the barn that burned in 2011.
The nearby chapel is a larger version of the types of roadside chapels you will often see in the Namur/Brussels areas so keep your eyes open for smaller ones. The front door of the chapel is the original door from the family homestead house across the road. Many of the interior furnishings came from St Mary of the Snows Catholic church in Namur (about 2 miles NE on Hy DK) when it was closed and converted to the Belgian Heritage center. Feel free to step inside the chapel but please be respectful.
If you are so inclined, take the time to say a prayer for the gifts you have, for many future safe Geocaching adventures and for protection for all the members of the Armed Forces who make sacrifices so we can enjoy our freedoms.
Cache placed with permission of property owners Dave &Dixie Englebert.
Please tread lightly as you search out the cache. CITO and BYOP. Feel free to post pictures of the barn quilt, but please don’t give away the cache location or container.
Happy Caching!
