Frontier Park is a gem of a park in the village of Butler. It features picnic shelters, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, an athletic field, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, a children's playground, sand volleyball courts, a large forested area with walking trails, and impressive views of the Menomonee River.
Cache In Trash Out (CITO) is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
We are very excited to be hosting our 2nd annual Fall Geocaching CITO Event. Trash bags and disposable gloves will be provided to use in gathering trash in and around the park. Although the focus of a CITO event is more on area cleanup than geocaching, there will be a new cache or two for your hunting pleasure (as well as the five already placed; with two of them from just earlier this month) while you help make the park a more beautiful place. Everyone is invited to bring their own picnic lunch and something to share if you wish. The entire event only lasts a little over two hours, although you're welcome to stay afterward for as long as you'd like.
There will be prizes awarded for a variety of categories to be announced at the event. In addition there will be a raffle drawing of donated items that are of value to geocachers. If you wish to donate something for the raffle, please bring it along.
