HINTS

I am a man.
I was born in Bavaria
I am dead

My parents died when I was still a child.  My mother died in October 1886 and my father only five months later in February 1887.
In 1887, while living with my grandparents in Ansbach, I began to learn book binding but quit and began to learn how to be a metal worker.  But I quit this also and left Ansbach.
I arrived in the USA in 1893.
My main interest in life was very rare during my lifetime but is today a daily occurrence.

On 14 August 1901 I did something that no other human had ever done.
From 1901 to 1904 I continued to improve on my machine and techniques.
In 1903 two brothers in North Carolina got credit for being the first at something that really I was first at.
I died in Bridgeport Connecticut of a heart attack in October 1927 while attempting to lift an automobile engine from a car.

In 1985, in the USA, a reproduction of  the 21st machine I created was completed.
In 1998, in Germany, a reproduction of the 21st machine I created was completed.
The reproduced machine now sits in a museum in my Bavarian hometown. The museum has my German name.

You can find the final at:

D = (2,6)

E = (2,1) + (2,3)
F = (1,5)
G = (2,4) - (1,3)
H = (1,7) - (2,9)

To solve use the NUMBER value of the letters in the persons name. I.E. A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4,...Z=26.
