Geocache Description:

Easy family cache hidden by Big Bro & Hamar Nephew.  Can be muddy.  Permission from Park Manager and permit on file.  Suggest parking at Shelter #4.

This cache is in honor of my dad, Dr_Jeff.

He passed away unexpectedly March 10th, 2013 at the age of 66.

He enjoyed the outdoors and the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially wrestling.

Upon retiring in 2008 he took up geocaching as a reason to get outside and be active.  We had many, many geocaching adventures.

He found 781 geocaches total.  We found 441 together, as Team Hamar Dad.

I take photos of every cache I find and he did, too.

He was in the process of putting “cache-in-a-bag” in large caches to help others place caches, which I will be placing now.

He was also planning on hiding some caches but never told me his ideas.

I miss him but I have all the geocaching adventure memories to remember him by.

Near where the cache is hidden is one of my dad’s favorite fishing spots.  We placed a memorial bench there in his honor.  Please post photos of yourself with the cache at the bench.
