On November 6th, 2013 Astronaut Rick Mastracchio will deliver a Travel Bug to the International Space Station. Hopefully he will also get the FTF on GC1BE91 the first and only geocache in outer space....with the space station being more than .10 of a mile long....it would cool if he would place the second geocache on the ISS.
Back here on earth... I am hosting a geocachers meet and greet at Tanglewood Village in Decatur, IL ( coordinates above will lead you there). It will be on Wednesday night from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. I will provide drinks and snacks for those who attend and will be showing a Star Trek Movie, so bring the kids. For those who are interested....this will also be a Geocaching Swap Meet. Everyone is encouraged to bring caches...old or new that you may have lying around your house / garage or caching workshop. There will be tables set up to Buy, Sell or Swap....if you bring an item..if it is for trade...please mark it with a sticker reading trade.......and if it is for sell, please put a price on the sticker and please put your geocaching name on it as well, so we know who to swap or pay.Being that this is a weeknight...you need not attend the entire 3 hours to claim your souvenir....but at least drop by for a short time, grab a snack look over the cache containers and say hi
** Free Raffle door prizes** Write on a piece of paper your name and your favorite Star Trek quote and drop it in the ammo box at the event...If I pull your quote out...you will win a raffle prize !!
