Zgadnij, kim jestem? Moje początki leżą w niezmierzonej, zdawałoby się, przeszłości. Należę bowiem do najstarszych skał europejskich. Z lądu, którego część wtedy stanowiłem, zostało już niewiele. Nie mylisz się, jeśli podejrzewasz, że jestem skałą głębinową. Do Warszawy przywędrowałem lodowym autostopem, ale nie tym ostatnim. Moją charakterystyczną, czerwonożółtą barwę nadaje mi pewien minerał z gromady krzemianów. Na miejscu, pod lupą, jaką na mojej powierzchni zamontowali pracownicy Polskiego Instytutu Geologicznego, dostrzeżesz jeszcze dwa inne, ważne dla mojej budowy i barwy minerały.
Głaz znajduje się na dziedzińcu Muzeum Geologicznego. Muzeum ma darmowy wstęp i jest czynne w godzinach: poniedzialek-piatek 09.00-15.00 / niedziela 10.00-14.00. W soboty muzeum jest nieczynne.

Who am I? As I’m one of Europe’s oldest rocks, my origins lay in the distant past. There is not much left of the land I originate from. You are not mistaken if you think that I’m a plutonic rock. I hitchhiked to Warsaw by glacier, but not the last one. My typical reddish-yellow colour is caused by a mineral from the group of silicates. If you use the magnifying glass, attached to me by the Museum’s staff, you can notice two more minerals responsible for my structure and colour.
The boulder is located in the Museum’s yard. Admission to the area and the Museum is free. Opening times: Mon-Fri: 9.00-15.00, Sun: 10.00-14.00 (closed on Saturdays). THE DESCRIPTION ON THE INFORMATION BOARD IS IN POLISH ONLY, BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM.

Rate mal, wer ich bin? Meine Geburt liegt weit in entfernter Vergangenheit. Denn ich gehöre zu ältesten europäischen Gesteinen. Vom Land, von dem ich komme, blieb nur noch ein Bruchteil. Es stimmt, du irrst nicht, wenn du annimmst, ich sei ein Plutonit. Meinen Warschauer Fundort erreichte ich mithilfe des eisigen Riesen. Dennoch, wir reden nicht von dem vor knapp 12.000 Jahren. Meine charakteristische rot-gelbe Farbe verdanke ich einem Mineral aus der Gruppe der Feldspate. Vor Ort, unter der Lupe, die von den Mitarbeitern des Polnischen Geologieinstitutes auf meiner Oberfläche montiert wurde, wirst du zwei weitere Minerale entdecken, die für meine Zusammensetzung und Farbe von Bedeutung sind. INFOS AUF DER TAFEL NEBEN DER LUPE SIND LEIDER NUR AUF POLNISCH, DENNOCH KOMMT IHR SICHERLICH DAMIT ZURECHT.
Der Fels befindet sich auf dem Hof des Geologischen Museums. Eintritt - auch ins Museum - ist FREI! Öffnungszeiten: Montag-Freitag 09.00-15.00 / sonntags 10.00-14.00. An Samstagen ist das Museum geschlossen.
