More Than a Game Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Hack1of2: We picked up the container and are archiving this one. It has had a good run. The container, by the way, was a mini golf bag thermos!

Geocache Description:

Located only about .2 miles from the parking lot and just off of the "Plantation Path" (a nice paved trail), the cache is of an unknown size (no spoilers please) that reflects the game that we all love. There is room for swag and trackables. You can park at the NE "Homestead" parking lot at N 43° 02.384 W 088° 23.589.

Some would say it's more than a game, more than a sport. Many would say it's an addiction! Whatever you may call it, it's fun and we very much enjoy it! Here are some interesting observations:

- It's a great way to take a nice walk in a park
- You can do it alone but we think it's better when with others
- I used to use an iPhone app for it, but eventually I got a Garmin GPS unit for it which is more accurate
- It's fun to take pictures along the way
- We've done this activity all around the state, and in other parts of the country
- It's a great way to get some moderate exercise
- It's easier to find what you're looking for when it's out in the open, but it can be more difficult when it's in the woods
- Some players are into it for the numbers, some for the exercise, some for the social interaction, and some for the fun and adventure
- Entire families can participate in it, but it seems to be slightly more men than women
- It's an outdoor activity, so wearing sunscreen, insect repellant, and proper clothing is recommended when appropriate
- It can provide some structure and a goal for a nice long walk
- It can compliment other interests such as hiking, bird watching, photography, gadgets, and exercise
- Can you guess what game we're referring to?

We hope you take time to enjoy your walk in the park!

*****Lapham Peak requires a state park admission sticker or daily pass to enter the park.*****
