Parking is available at the end of Ellington Road. (A Parking waypoint has been provided.)

From parking is the open entrance to the Brookwood Marsh Conservation Area, also known as Burts Pit Bog. Occasional tours are done here via boat, but you are on foot! Proceed forward to the provided Trailhead waypoint on your left past the rocks, which identifies a loose path on higher ground that can be hard to find. Tread carefully, as weather can make a mess of the path, but sinking in a few inches of mud sure beats several inches into the real bog! You are searching for a winter-friendly bison tube. Please BYOP!
Legend of the Sanctuary Series #8: There's a strange scent in the air... the purity of this area has been untouched by evil hands. A recurring theme is the presence of these special jewels being relatively close to water surfaces... is this pattern intentional? This is a swamp, itself! Does Burts Pit Bog have a special jewel? ...in fact, it does! An ear-piercing sound rings from nearby, likely from the rumored remains of an old town. It is likely the bog-stop was predicted. The questions raised here will have to wait, it is dire to carry on toward the direction of the Sawmill Hills!
Good Luck! Happy Caching!
