Geocache Description:

It's the Bishop!

The cache is not at the posted coords but it is close by.  The poem below will show you the way.

To log this one, you will need to be both strong in body & mind and have more than just a little courage.  Once you have solved the puzzle, then the real challenge for most will begin.  You must sign the log to claim this cache.

I have thought about placing one here ever since I found my first cache.  I love this spot and the views that it provides.  I have waited to get a better idea of how to place a cache like this and how to rate the terrain. I have now done a handful of these types of caches, and this is by far the hardest.

This cache is not for everyone and it is very possible you will get to the GZ and decided you will have to let this one go.  Neither I nor geocaching.com are liable for any injuries that may result from an unprepared pursuit of this cache! Please only attempt to retrieve the Cache if you feel physically up for the challenge.  The start is tricky and a puzzle in its own way. (See hint if you need one.)  Beware of dead things.  Also remember, it is easier to get there than get back.

The cache is big enough to hold GeoCoins and small trackables.  There is a bison and an unregistered travel bug tag for the FTF & the STF.  FTF gets their choice.  Good luck, and bring a pen.

The Bishop of the East Side

He hides behind his Black Magic
Smack! Bang!  Pow Pow!

Upside your head with a Sucker Punch
You felt it, a Hard Crack.

A Slight Inducement,
You retreat to your Solarium,
And escape the Sixty Foot Woman.

To comfort, a warm glass of Buttermilk Stem
And a conversation with the Sheepherder,
One learns, the Bishop is on The Prow.

Not a hulk of a man but The Hunk
And to save the day, the Green Hornet

He arrives & shouts, Go Granny Go!
But the night belongs to the Soul Slinger,
Till you greet the day and say ‘Good Morning Sunshine.’

Gooseville gets the first to solve and bonus points for pointing me to a source that is different than my source. I have added a hint to the cert for a certain wrong guess.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

This is the third in a series of caches I will be placing in McLaren Park (yes, a hint). All of these caches will be creative hides that might take a little time to figure out at the GZ. McLaren is an amazing urban park that has flown under the radar for many years. I walk my dog here almost every day and am excited to place a few caches here to share this park with others. This one is located on one of the best trails in the park. For many years the SF Parks & Rec department has basically ignored this park and let it fall into a state of disrepair. Lately people have been discovering this park again but there are still large sections of the park that remain almost unused. Parts of this park border the Sunnydale projects so I would not cache here at night.
