The Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge will provide all the tools, equipment, and information/education that we need. All we need to do is show up to work.
There is water and coffee available in the Visitor's Center. I will be bringing doughnuts.
When you log that you will attend: Please let me know the number of people you will be bringing so I may update the refuge so they can prepare to have adequate tools and supplies available to us.
A note to those who have not volunteered at Neal Smith NWR before: each volunteer will need to fill out a Volunteer Services Agreement. You can do this at ahead of time or at the refuge- either is fine with the refuge staff. The form is available on their website at http://www.fws.gov/refuge/Neal_Smith/what_we_do/get_involved/volunteer_applications.html. Scroll down to "Volunteer Service Agreement", and click it to download. There are links to examples on how to fill it out. Print the completed form, sign it and bring it with you.
A big thanks to Megan Wandag, the Visitor Services Specialist, for welcoming us to the refuge to volunteer.
A note to avid geocache hiders:
According to the US Fish & Wildlife Service website physical caches are not to be placed on wildlife refuge lands without permission authorized by the refuge manager.
