***Special Offer For Travelers***
Once again we will have our special offer for those traveling over 100 miles for this event. For $5 a person we will order a food dish for you. Please fill out the order form to request that option. You can make your payment at the registration desk when you arrive.
Registration will begin at 10:30AM. You'll be given a packet that includes your name tags, a free raffle ticket for each attendee and information for the Clue Game. T-Shirts will also be available for pick up.
After registering, be sure to head over to the log book table and sign in.
Put your Geo-Detective hat on for the Clue Game. Can you successfully channel your inner Hercule Poirot or Miss Jane Marple to solve the "Mystery of the Mill Creek Muggle"? You'll have most of the day to work on the mystery, while mingling with other picnic attendees and enjoying the other activities. A special prize will be awarded.
Also, there will be 5 new puzzle caches published one week before the picnic. You'll be able to solve and or find all 5 caches prior to picnic day. Grab a clue from each of these 5 caches and you'll be led to the location of the Picnic Cache which will be published the day of the event.
This year 14 clueless cachers will be heading home with one of 14 creative containers filled with geocaching goods. Everyone will receive an entry ticket when you stop at the registration table. Just put your caching name on the ticket and place it in the ticket container associated with the prize you want to win. In addition, you'll get a ticket for each breakfast meal purchased before the picnic and then throughout the day additional tickets will be available for purchase at $1 per ticket or 6 for $5.
A One-Of-A-Kind T-Shirt Quilt will be raffled off again this year. Those tickets will be sold in advance up to the time of the drawing. - $1 per ticket or 6 for $5. See the Quilt here.
A second quilt will also be presented for raffle. It will be a full size bandana quilt featuring the first ever group photo from the 2013 KC Area Picnic.
T-SHIRTS AND PATHTAGS FOR ORDER:
Be sure and order your 2014 picnic T-shirts and Pathtags. You don't want to be the only one not in picnic attire!!
There will be no t-shirt reorders this year, so if you want a t-shirt order it now!
Orders must be placed by Saturday August 2nd.
Pathtags from previous picnic years are also available. See Order Form.
Members of our caching community have always been very generous in providing items for this caching event and as always we appreciate you! Once again, we are asking for donations to help fill the 14 containers. All donated items will be assigned to a container, even if they may be too large to fit inside. If you have any items you'd like to donate this year, please contact one of the committee members. A donation card will be available to fill out and post during the picnic. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you...in advance.
The picnic committee is always open to hear any ideas you might have to make our picnic successful and fun for all ages.
Please post a (will attend) log. (We need a definite yes or no to provide an accurate count when placing the chicken order). If possible please sign up by noon Friday, August 22nd, so we can finalize the order. Please state how many are attending under your geocaching name.
For those of you new to our caching community, please list your first names along with your geocaching name in your log so we can create your personalized name tag. Each pre-registered name tag will contain one raffle ticket.
You may add this page to your watch list to receive updated information on the picnic and other events that may be scheduled in the area.
A special thanks to Johnson County Park & Recreation for the use of this venue and for being geocaching friendly.
