Geocache Description:

The caboose is an emergency shelter that normally lives by the ski-way, where the planes used to land in the 70’s before the runway was built at Rothera. Its role these days is to provide a shelter for people who are caught out in bad weather, but its main use is to provide a cup of tea to weary folk who are out skiing or climbing. Rothera has been occupied by the Brithish Antarctic Survey since 25th October 1975 to present and is located on Adelaide Island.

The cache is a screw top Tupperware container with room for small TBs and swaps, not that there was much in it to swap when placed! It is hidden well but should be easy to locate during the summer months (Nov-Mar), in the winter you are likely to need a spade (which they are some at the Caboose).

I took the co-ords with a GPS on an overcast day so might not be spot on. The Caboose is on a glacier that will move, albeit slow, so they will change; especially if the Caboose is relocated back up the glacier; which happens every few years. Not that this makes a difference as it is the only building within miles so it’s hard to look in the wrong area. With this in mind can you please ensure the cache is placed back as found so it doesn't fall out if the Caboose is moved. Ta

Small note on cache maintenance: Rothera is here yearly, has a nearby cache. He's kindly offered to help with this cache too. Thanks!
