Maker Madness!

Spring has sprung! April showers bring on...well...you know the rest!

Are the longer and warmer days of spring recharging your batteries? The weather is beautiful, the birds are chirping, the flowers growing and the Earth is simply brimming with life! What else could make it better? Oh yeah! It's prime geocaching time! No doubt all of you have been hitting the trails, bushwhacking through those woods and driving to those prime caching spots by now in search of fun, laughs and good times, so why not cap off all of that fun with a nice little meet and greet located in one of the best caching areas in Mid-Missouri?

Whether you've been out searching for the numerous caches in the Columbia area or just need an excuse to get out and feed the need for tweed, come join Trillian, other fellow geocachers and I for some camaraderie, exchanging and sharing of trackables, geocaching stories and of course...food. With numerous restaurant offerings in the food court, there is surely something for everyone to enjoy...even if it's just a nice, cool beverage. How can you go wrong?

Maker Madness!!!

Finding a great geocache can make for an awe-inspiring adventure, but those adventures do not magically appear on their own. They are concocted inside the brilliant mind of a Geocache Maker. This crazy thing we call geocaching would simply not exist without the people who channel their creativity and innovative spirit into making great experiences for others.

From March 28 – April 7, geocachers around the world will join together to celebrate the people in their community who make geocaching possible. We call this celebration Maker Madness.

We’re calling all Geocache Makers (and folks who want to celebrate their favorite Makers) to host events to celebrate geocache creation and to inspire the next generation of geocache makers. Anyone who logs an “Attended” at a registered Maker Madness event will earn a Maker Madness souvenir.

So that is what we're doing. This EC&M event is dedicated to those who help make geocaching what it is!

Anyway, much like previous incarnations, the goal for this casual event is to provide an opportunity for everyone to congregate and get to know each other better while possibly meeting new cachers to boot! This event is open to geocachers and those interested in geocaching as well, so bring along those curious muggle friends! All are welcome!

If you haven't attended a geocaching event yet, give it a try! People around this neck of the woods are some of the finest you'll ever meet!

You don't have to purchase any food to participate in this event. You do, however, have to find us (look for a brightly-colored sign with the event cache number *GC4Z86E* on it) and sign the log book, though, as the above coordinates will only get you to the door to the food court.

How long you choose to stay and how much of a mallrat you end up feeling like is up to you. So, come on over to our event and say hello! We hope you have fun!
