Geocache Description:

From March 28 – April 7, geocachers around the world will join together to celebrate the people in their community who make geocaching possible. We call this celebration Maker Madness.  Our area Maker Madness gather will be on Saturday, March 29th from 2-5pm at the Bangor Public Library Board Room.

Finding a great geocache can make for an awe-inspiring adventure, but those adventures do not magically appear on their own. They are concocted inside the brilliant mind of a Geocache Maker. This crazy thing we call geocaching would simply not exist without the people who channel their creativity and innovative spirit into making great experiences for others.   Anyone who logs an “Attended” at a registered Maker Madness event will earn a Maker Madness souvenir.

Let's get together to share some of our favorite stories of amazing caches we have found and to inspire each other with ideas for new caches.  Bring some of your pictures, and some materials for making some caches.  Let's get creative and swap ideas or even swap caches.

The whole idea is to "step up our game"!  We all love different types of caches, from the simple to the AMAZING.  Sometimes the simple IS amazing!  But what can we do to make some amazing experiences?  I remember talking with Nashuan about his caches and he said something very interesting, "I may not know all these amazing places like others do, so I try to make the cache the amazing experience."  Though one may not have the inventiveness and skills of someone like Nashuan, but perhaps we can "dress" some things up.

We will have the Board Room for our event from 2-5--the Library closes at 5, so we will have the time to get together, share, make and scoot.  You may find free parking directly across from the Library, in the Abbot Street Parking Lot.  The coords are for the walk to the side Children's Entrance to the Library.  When you come in, take a left and just head for the Board Room.  Perhaps we will have a few "signs" to help you find the correct path.  Feel free to bring snack if you would like also.  I will bring some water.

I am very excited to host this and to see what witty ideas we can come up with!  Please post your "Will Attend" and if you can bring a snack.  Nothing major, just snacks.  See you there!!!!
