Tiger snake is named largely as a reminder of these nasty wrigglers in the area, especially during the summer months, and is one of the top 10 Deadliest snakes on earth.
This is particularly poignant as on 1/3/14 while returning from the Dragons Event, Budgietas and I were walking, talking and not really paying attention until I caught a flicker of movement in my vision. I looked up and about a metre away was a 2 metre example of this creature, wriggling along and not particularly scared of us.
I gave a not so manly scream and stopped budgie, who looked up and gave a more manly scream and we stopped and waited until it decided to move on.
