Geocache Description:

This cache is at the posted coordinates.

You may find the cache and sign the log book at any time, but you must also complete the challenge below to log this find online.

There are over 250 domain abbreviations for countries on the internet (eg. www.mbgeocaching.ca). The challenge is to find 150 caches anywhere in the world that contain a separate 2-letter country abbreviation within their GC codes.

Right-click on the map for "View Image" to enlarge it.

Or here is an alphabetical list

The rules are simple:

  1. You must have logged a find for 150 separate caches whose GC codes contain a 2-letter country abbreviation.
  2. Since there are letters that are not used in GC codes, in order to make this challenge work here are the substitutions you should use:
    • Letter O becomes Number 0 (zero)
    • Letter I becomes Number 1
    • Letter S becomes Number 5
    • Letter U becomes Letter V (so you can use V for both U and V)
    • Letter L becomes Number 7
  3. The "GC" prefix that is part of every geocache code does NOT count as part of any abbreviation. So GC7Y4N does not count for Chile (cl) but is acceptable for Libya (ly).
  4. Any cache found at any time anywhere in the world is valid, whether archived or still active, so you may already qualify for this challenge.
  5. Each cache may only be used for a single country. For example, GCMV45 may be used for Maldives (mv) or Mauritius (mu), but not both. GCBE57 can be used for Bermuda (be) or Spain (es) or Sierra Leone (sl) but not 2 or all 3.
  6. The country’s letters must be next to each other and cannot be separated by another letter or number. For example, GCFR45 is valid for France (fr), but GCF5R4 is not.
  7. You must list your qualifying caches, including the name of the cache, its GC code and country used, in either a log entry or as a bookmark list attached to this cache.
  8. Feel free to sign the log at any time and log a "note" on the cache page when you do so. But you may not log a find online until you have completed the requirements.
  9. This cache does NOT count towards 1 of the 150.
