Gundah Ridge Library Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

asbestiform: Opened in April, ransacked in July. What is it about libraries that can inspire such asinine behaviour? At least it wasn't burnt to the ground like some of the great libraries of times past! Just hope the books ended up somewhere useful.
With the structure intact, after some thought, it was decided a relocation was the best option. As this will require a move out of the current GZ this one will be archived.

Thanks to all who visited. The library will return!

Geocache Description:

A library with a difference - the reading room is vast! Please pay attention to the description below.

The Gundah Ridge Library was established in stepped sandstone terrain just off the Gundah Ridge Track at the end of Beaumont Road in April, 2014. The current catalogue includes the following titles:

Birds True or False by Melvin and Gilda Berger

The Thirty Nine steps by John Buchan

Mister Johnson by Joyce Cary

Mr. Bump by Roger Hargreaves

The Fog by James Herbert

My Brother Jack by George Johnston

Things I want my daughters to know' by Elisabeth Noble

Grandpa Wombat’s snore by Steve Parish

Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig (on Loan)

Goosebumps: The girl who cried monster by R.L. Stine

History's Greatest Scandals by Ed Wright

The library rules are simple, you may swap or borrow. If you borrow please return the item within 3 months or request an extension from the head librarian. If you swap let us know the title so the librarians can update the catalogue. The library has some magnificent views over Cowan Creek and over to Glenorie. You are welcome to stay as long as you like, and visit as often as you like.

The library is open all year round 24/7. Careful observation will reveal the way in. The interior lighting is a little low so a torch might come in handy but is not essential. If you come after dark you'll definitely be needing a torch and take great care not to fall off anything.

There is a small kids section but make sure yours obey the library rules: no screaming or fighting, no yelling, no biting but most of all; don't fall off the ledges close to GZ or get bitten by anything.

NOTE In order to post a successful find you'll need to sign "The Librarian's Logbook". The librarians keep this separate from the main collection. Please place any TBs and coins with the main collection, there is a possibility they will be lost inside the library otherwise.

In your log please note one of your favourite books and why. The librarians are always interested in new titles that might be of interest to borrowers.

Oh...the final rule, please close the doors on your way out and return everything as found.....now Shhh!

First to find gets to attend the opening ceremony and win a scratchie. And the ribbon cutter, and first to register at the library with Readers Card number 1, is... Mr FTF himself...Baktrak

PS... Please no photos of the cache, but post plenty of the view! ....and there's a number on the door worth noting. Not sure yet when it will be needed.
