Geocache Description:

In response to the amazing interest in DVC series Here is another smaller series high lighting some of New Norfolk's interesting and historic places.

In 1825 the ‘Woodbridge’ residence alongside the Derwent River was constructed using convict labour for Chief District Constable Thomas Roadnight. It became the Richmond Hill Academy, a young men’s academy, after its sale to George Lindley in 1831. In 1834 the property was bought by William Stanley Sharland and remained in the family until 1905. From this time Woodbridge changed ownership a number of times and slowly became neglected. It has now been restored and is used as accommodation.
