Ahahaaha me hearties. In the centre of Cartmel there lies an ancient cross. It is said that the great pirate of ancient Cartmel, the locally not very famous Blackmoustache siezed it on one of his later voyages, whilst sailing the eigth or ninth sea and dropped it here to be reclaimed with his other long lost treasures (which are said to include half a pound of anti woodworm solution, several packets of weavel infested bisuits, an economy pirate gun that fires only feathers and his own brand of special extra black moustache dye).
Our plan is to arrive in the vacinity of this very cross, to be found at the given co-ordinates, at 10 of the O'clock, ideally dressed in full pirate garb although of course we'll take ye as found. Once everyone is assembled in the proper disorganised manner a pirate horn will sound. At this very time, we will all point our cutlasses skywards, other pirate treasures or arms and fingers if you don't have anything else. It's important any local people fully understand why we are all here, so as we point, we'll all shout 'In Memory of Blackmoustache' as loud as we can.
To recap,
10am - Pirates and landlubbers assemble in front of Cartmel Cross wearing moustaches
10.05ish - HORN SOUNDS - Cutlasses, treasures, fingers all point to the sky. Everyone shouts 'Remembering Blackmoustache'
10:10am Pirates disperse and Cartmel is left in pieces, sorry, in peace that should read.
Whether you are in pirate garb or not, please consider wearing a black moustache just for the flash mob. Help bring the special touch of class this event deserves. These are readily available on ebay for less than £2 or elsewhere, the more ridiculous the better (the moustache that is, not the price). A moustache is not a requirement to attend. Plastic cutlasses only, obviously do not bring any sharp or dangerous objects to this gathering.
