Social Event for ALL
Event at: Sept. 20, 2014 Mankato Elks Nature Center Rasmussen Woods 555 Stoltzman Road Mankato, MN 56001

This is the Otak Group 2014 salute to all the Geocachers that visit the area throughout the year. We want to meet YOU!

Join us on Saturday, September 20th
Come to Otakland for an opportunity to meet a few of your fellow geocachers for a day of new geoadventures, camaraderie, exercise, and some good old-fashioned fun. Talk of old caches, puzzles and HINTS. We will have the coffee and the donuts should you join us at 8:00 AM. Caches will be placed throughout Mankato, North Mankato area focusing on the Urban theme. Should you care to join in all information needed will be available.

Otak "In HD" .

Registration Registration/Staging Area Registration starts at 8:00AM at the Mankato Elks Nature which are the coordinates provided for this GeoFest. The caching event will run from 9:00AM - 3:00PM.
The rules, a cache log sheet, hard copies of the coordinates, and a map showing the general location of the cache placements will be provided to participants during registration. There will be somebody at the registration area during the event to answer questions or to provide hints. Twitter Updates / Call for help. Twitter will again be used to provide hints, updates, and coordinate corrections (if needed) during the event. On Twitter, LINK.

Caches

There will be approximately 25 permanent caches placed for this event. Caches will be available on Geocaching.com after 5:00PM on the day of the event. You will be able to drive to and park near most of the cache locations along with biking and/or hiking to them. Caches are not just P&G. Expect to find variations in difficulty and terrain. Hints provided.

GPS Downloads We will have coordinates available for download to your device. Delorme, Garmin, Lowrance, and Magellan. We have MINI USB-B, MINI USB, AND MICRO USB cables. If you are not sure, please bring your own. If you have a different brand of GPSr, we will try to assist you in loading the way points, but we make no guarantees that we will be successful. Permanent caches will be posted on Geocaching.com after 5 p.m.

Travel Bugs We will be having a temporary travel bug hotel set up at registration so trading of trackables can occur. The travel bugs will be at the Elks Nature Center later in the day for the post event. Any travel bugs left over will be moved along by the Otak Group.
When the Caching is DONE Post Event/Door Prizes Post Event will be at the Mankato Elks Nature Center. Burgers, Brats and some munchies will be provided. Food and drink to pass are welcome. The nature Center should have enough room in case of inclement weather. Event evaluations will be made available. Door prizes will be awarded at the social hour/dinner hour.
