The Williamson Valley Road Series is a Friends of Morgan Ranch Nature Park history project. Even numbered caches are on the E side of the Rd; odd on the W for 44 mi. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WORK 1 SIDE OF THE ROAD AT A TIME. Please pick up trash so the neighborhood trash-pickers are not drawn to the location.
GRANITE MOUNTAIN RUINS Two areas near Granite Mountain were named by Kenneth Austin, a volunteer for the Prescott National Forest. “Janet A.” is a ruin, and “Carla A.” is known for its glyphs, or characters, pecked on a stone surface. Under the auspices of the Museum of Northern Arizona, Austin took on the ambitious task of locating and mapping hilltop sites in west central Arizona, including hundreds within view of Williamson Valley Road.
