One of the best hikes in the NE Adirondack's: Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain. Cache is located about halfway up the steep Ranger Trail. You're looking for a medium sized container. If continuing on to the summit you will reach an elevation of 2,180'.
This peak has been a longtime favorite growing up with my family - we climbed every fall around Columbus Day when the foliage was at or near peak. Climbers are rewarded with views of Lake Champlain, the ADK High Peaks, Green Mountains and even Montreal (on a clear day). The trail is as steep as they come, but not quite as long as a High Peak - perfect early-season hike to get those muscles in shape for the big ones! Enjoy the climb - Happy Caching!
