On Easter Day 2014, the Easter Bunny came hopping around South Harris delivering Eastery delights to all. He then decided to hop away to his favourite spot - this spot is particularly special because what he's hiding near is not a very common sight on these isles.
If you're starting in Leverburgh, its a lovely (roughly 1mile) walk or cycle on the road down Strand where you can see across to Berneray & North Uist and, on a clear day, the Isle of Skye. When you come to an old ruined croft-house on your right, you're nearly there. Whoever lived here had some stunning views! You'll then cross a wee bridge over a river running into the sea, just across this bridge you want to turn left off the road and scramble over a wee hillock (its a bit steep here but not too difficult) & into a sheltered valley.
(you can also drive down Strand & park near the ruined croft-house)
For interest, just over the bridge to the right is the remains of the place that Harris Tweed was first marketed (by the Paisley Sisters of Pabbay).
After you've found the Easter Bunny, if you want more of an adventure, you can climb Stranndabhal from here where you'll get stunning views of South Harris & across the sea - though its a steep scramble with a fence to jump over from this point.
Also recommended is to continue along the road at the end of which begins the very lovely footpath to Rodel.
Good luck!
