Settlers near Skonun
Pre Second World War land in this area was sold to immigrant settlers; many of those owners went off to serve in WWII and never returned with the exception of only one or two returning after the war to settle again in the Port Clements area. Working the land in this area, trees felled by hand was extremely laborious.

get off the trail - through the clearing back into wooded area at this site you will find remnants of an old cabin. Beware! some old broken glass nearby the cabin and in the woods off the trail are old wells - so beware where you tread.
