Geocache Description:

Stumped By Dad? (Stumped By #4)

[The cache is not at the listed coordinates.]

I am the father of "Hypothetical" and "Clueless". They visited me recently and showed me on their computer the geocaches that they had made. I was appalled and I am going to put a stop to it - what a complete waste of time. I blame their mother and especially their grandfather. How could he encourage "Hypothetical" to write a web page with so many spelling mistakes? Something about encouraging creativity! That is total rubbish. Also how could he let them both use their special family nicknames in public? What will people think?

I have encouraged the children with their hobbies. "Clueless" likes solving clueless crosswords. That is good since it improves her vocabulary and spelling. (Unfortunately her spelling took a backward step when she was taken overseas recently.) Her calligraphy is useful too as an art project. She showed me her calligraphy web page. All very pretty but I was shocked to read how she had nearly got lost on a school trip. I suppose it was just as well that her grandfather had shown her how to use a map and compass but it would have been better if she had stayed at home studying. I complained to the school and they said that it was completely safe. Each group carried a GPS tracker and the teachers knew where they were at all times. I did not agree but they would not take any notice.

"Hypothetical" is keen on photography and I have given him a camera. I bought it on-line at an auction. Initially I bid $42.55 but finally won the action by offering $147.17. Fortunately the camera is digital and I do not have to pay to get film developed and printed. "Hypothetical" has already taken a lot of photographs and a few have been very good; having a vivid imagination seems to help. However I do not want to encourage him too much since he has to also study.

Both children have been spending too much time on this geocaching nonsense instead of schoolwork. Their mother insists that they go to a private school. I am required to pay a big contribution to the fees of over $120 a week for "Hypothetical" and $175 for "Clueless". I also have to pay my medical expenses. I need to keep taking the pills and I am getting better; my SAD value is 142/1000 and my ERASE result is 0.235 g/dl and improving. A lot of my money is wasted paying for school trips and sporting activities and not enough is left for me. I have to work hard and so should the children. Both must study and not waste their time on such useless things as geocaching. I want them to go to university (a geocache log said as much so I suppose even geocaching has some redeeming features, small though they might be).

We have agreed that this is to be their last geocache. I have written the text so I know that it contains no secret messages. "Hypothetical" has taken a photo of stumps in the area where they hid the cache. Their grandfather has agreed to prepare the web page. The cache will be difficult to find since there is only the photo to go on. Personally I hope no one bothers to find it. I do not want the children even to look at the web page again.
