Let's get together for a little disc golf
...a little geocaching
...and coffee and donuts
It seems a lot of geocachers also enjoy the sport of disc golf so we thought it would be great to have an event that combined the two and throw in a bit of time for socializing with coffee and donuts. We are planning on meeting at Prairie Center park in Olathe at one of two small shelters from 8:00-8:30am for a short meet and greet. Coffee/donuts/juice to be provided. Bring anything else that you would like. Those wanting to hang around should plan to bring chairs as seating at each shelter is limited to two picnic tables and the shelters are first-come, first serve so it's possible that they could be occupied and we serve coffee in the parking lot instead. Course is 18 holes. Hole 1 is near the posted coordinates. Hiking and caching opportunities are nearby at Ernie Miller Park and surrounding areas.
This event is open to the public so if you're new to geocaching, that's ok... come on by.... even if you don't want to play disc golf or hang around long.
PLEASE LOG A "WILL ATTEND" if you plan to join for coffee and donuts so we know how much of each to get.
Tentative schedule is as follows:
8:00am - socializing, coffee & donuts
8:30am 'til whenever you want to call it quits - Disc golf and or caching
bring a sack lunch if you want.
There is a children's playground near the posted coordinates.
Final details are still being worked out so please be sure to add the event to your watchlist. I'll try to get a hold of a course map and share it shortly.
