This is a simple, small cache placed at the end of the Deer Creek spur of the South Tama Rec Trail, a usually tranquil spot about 1/4-mile west of Cherry Lake in Tama. Popular parking area for this cache is at the East end of Cherry Lake, so this could easily be a 1.5 mile round-trip on foot. But it's a very pleasant, flat walking or biking trail with a crushed limestone surface.
If you're headed for "Together", this cache is an easy walk beyond that point, but bring some bug spray in the summer months.
This small cache container is not on the ground and high enough to be safe from any flooding. The container is large enough to hold a few small items and there's a pencil or two inside for signing the log.
There's lots of poision ivy nearby if you wander off-trail, but there should be no need to do that in order to find this cache. Enjoy.
