What is this all about???
Linn County Conservation wants YOU to visit their parks and find some Geocache's.
Linn County Conservation owns 29 Parks and Recreation areas.
The Linn Parks Challenge will take you to 25 of these 29 Parks and Recreation areas.
(Listed below)
As an extra incentive, if you “find” all of the Geocache's for all 25 locations you will be rewarded with a special collectable trackable Geocaching coin!
Only one special / collectable trackable coin will be given per household.

How is this accomplished?
Download your "Passport" HERE.
Take this Passport with you when you are seeking these Caches.
Each of these 25 Caches will contain a small plate with a 'unique' embossed tag on them. Some of the caches will also have the embossed tag on the outside of the container.
They also contain a crayon in them.
Use the tag and the crayon to mark your 'Passport' to prove that you have found this Cache!
Once your Passport is completed you may claim your special coin at Wickiup Outdoor Learning Center.

Other family members (that have completed this Challenge) may purchase a coin for $10.00.

Morgan Creek Park


A wide variety of natural and recreational features can be found at Morgan Creek County Park, located off of Worcester Road in southwest Linn County.
Steep wooded hills in the east and gently rolling hills in the west, combine with the stream valley of Morgan Creek to create habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna.
Deer, squirrels, pheasants, fox, nesting bluebirds, beaver, raccoons, snow trillium and native prairie grasses are just some of the natural features found in this 230-acre park.

Morgan Creek has several great features in addition to the wonderful wildlife habitat - including the Morgan Creek Arboretum, modern campground, reservable open shelter, playground, and extensive trail system - including groomed cross-country ski trails.

Camping
Family Campground
Camping is a popular outdoor recreation activity at Morgan Creek Park.
Campgrounds are open from April 15-October 15, ground conditions permitting.
Morgan Creek Family Campground has modern sites with electricity and water.
Campsites are equipped with a firepad and and picnic table with showers and restrooms nearby.
Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
All campers must self-register and pay the required fee.
A dumping station for use by campers who camped in Linn County parks is available.
Camping discount booklets are also available from the park office and campground hosts.
Firewood is available at the campground host site.

Group Campground
A "pack-in" group campground is located at the south end of the day-use area.
A short walk is required to reach the campground.
Capacity is 15 tents or 45 people.
Facilities provided include: 6 picnic tables, 2 fire rings with grills, water spigot, primitive (pit) restroom.

Morgan Creek Shelter
The Morgan Creek Shelter is an open air facility that can be reserved during the park operating season.

Arboretum & Butterfly Garden The entrance to the is east of the family campground entrance off Worchester Road.
A one mile crushed limestone trail loops and winds through over 250 species of trees and shrubs. The plan collections include: native and exotic shade trees; ornamental trees and shrubs; prairie grasses and forbs; crabapples; lilacs; and the butterfly garden.
The Park Tour Program is available at the Arboretum.

Operating Hours & Seasons
Many features of the park are open on a year-round basis.
However some will close seasonally.
Facilities or the park may be closed on occasion due to extreme weather conditions, or it becomes inaccessible due to naturally occurring conditions.
