Meet the New Zealanders (Kiwis) then find Phil's Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Marko Ramius: Greetings! This event cache has recently come to my attention as needing to be archived. Please note that after an event has passed, the event cache should be archived by the organizer within four weeks. Don’t worry, the cache page will still be accessible and logable by either searching other cacher’s logs, by searching the cache owner’s hidden cache list, or by searching using the GCxxxx code.

Thank you for your understanding and for your contributions to Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

We have a fellow GeoCacher coming from down under to cache in San Diego during the month of August.  Come meet the Kiwis and arrange your own GeoCaching tour so you can share your favorite San Diego Caches.

The goal is to meet for breakfast then head out to Mt Laguna and find Phil's Memorial Cache (GC5B).

Agenda: Breakfast 6am-7,
Leave for Mt Laguna 7:15am,
Arrive Mt Laguna Lake Parking Area 8:20am,
Hike around and find Phil,
Return before noon.

So 99Squirrels just informed me that 6am was early for summer time... So IHOP opens at 6am and we will get there as soon as we can... Patches will be with us, so we will be sitting outside. ;-)

Goal 5 Miles, with 20+ Caches along the path. eMail me if you want the GPX track.

One thing I love about the San Diego GeoCaching community - Experience helps and I have received some excellent advise. A better approach can be made with plenty of street parking from the south. You can park between GC1XX3Z and the trail head (N 32° 51.658' W 116° 27.728') that leads to GC1H0MG. From there the path leads north up to Phil's and we can work our way back. Also it's a bit shorter. (Thanks Mike!)

The National Park Service is asking for National Forest Adventure Daily Passes ($5.00) for each car - So I picked up four today. They sell the the passes at REI and Big 5 as well. It's a $100.00 fine if you don't display the pass.

As I get more information I will update the site. Love the all the comments and suggestions!
