This is the thirteenth of a series of puzzle caches along the Montrose Trail in Glenorchy. The trail starts near to the upper end of Montrose Road where there is parking. The trail is primarily for fire fighting purposes and is well maintained. It is suitable for walking and bike riding (and 4WD vehicles but entry by those is prevented). To find the cache location you will have to solve a puzzle.
I love finding puzzle caches - it's what got me hooked on the hobby in the first place.
There used to be a great range of creative, clever and devious puzzles by red tag, DnA!, pjamesk, SG-3 and others, though this seems to have died off somewhat in recent years.
I love visiting the ACT and Adelaide, where they have strong puzzle communities, and some awesome caches (for me, made better by the fact that people don't give the solutions away, and therefore there's a real sense of achievement when you're one of the few to solve and find them).
One of my favourite cachers is known as danozz (in Melbourne), who has some beautifully layered puzzles that only a few people have solved (I've managed about half, but I'm totally stumped on the others!).
I often nostalgically look back at the puzzle caches I found early on.
