Cycling

Saturday, 11th October, 2014

Now that the weather is warming up, it's time to get on your bike and join your fellow geocachers for some cycling fun and friendship in Bicentennial Park near the Sydney Olympic Park precinct.

Using a map and grid references, The Amazing Chase will take you on a two-hour cycling adventure of discovery to locate 25 special places within Bicentennial Park celebrating the artworks and favourite spots that have evolved over 25 years of community use.

You can either bring your own bikes, (don’t forget your helmets) or hire bikes near the published coordinates. An adult bike can be hired for $30 for 2-4 hours. To obtain your map and question sheet, simply click on this LINK and download the "Bicentennial Park Amazing Chase" PDF document, then print it. Don't forget to bring the documents and something to write with, on the day. If you forget, the bike hire shop has copies of The Amazing Chase available. There is no cost to participate in this activity (apart from any bike hire costs.)

Although you can start your Amazing Chase adventure anytime during the day, we suggest you come along to the published coordinates, (look for our portable gazebo and the GeocachingNSW banner), between 9:30am and 10:30am and meet up with other geocachers, then head off on your tour of discovery. This will also give you the best chance of finding a parking spot as the park is a very popular venue for picnics and family gatherings. Parking is free and untimed in the park.

After you have completed your tour, please join us for some lunch and a good ol' chat about all things geocaching! Please BYO all your food and drink requirements however, a café is available nearby, if you prefer. The official event group photograph will be taken at 12:30pm so hope you can be there for that.

If you are unable to complete the cycling activity, you are still very welcome to come along for lunch and a chat.

Please post a "Will Attend" log so you will receive any announcements that we make for this event.

We hope you are free and can join us for a great day out in a fabulous location.

Cheers,
