Two of Hearts- When we first started caching Butcher had a cache in Christian Park which is on the back side of their home. It was a fake bolt on the hockey rink and it took Barb and me three trips to make the find. Then, there was that Little Cubby Thing, another three trips. This Butcherandswimmer were EVIL hiders no doubt about it. We finally met these wonderful folks who have given us many a caching frustration. Today, butcher tells me he’s done with evil and more into clever and bringing a smile to your face. Well, time will tell. I think my favorite (hard to choose) was Walk On By, which was a fake board on a sound barrier, it was so clever that the city painted it when they painted the fence. Since these early days we have become good friends and have taken major traveling trips with them. Oh, did I say butcher was the Grill Master, you have to taste his burgers at one of the events when he’s cooking. Outstanding! We hope to be with them as they approach their next milestone. two of hearts

Rustynails- Larry and Linda are a very nice couple that never hesitate to help when you need it. I first met Butcher at a WNC five years ago. I heard people saying Butcher was there and I had to meet him. I had found many of his evil hides and needed some tips on hiding tough hides. I was told he was the guy handing out beef jerky. I said hello and we spoke a few minutes about his hides. I later met his nice wife and we became good friends and have been caching for five years now. Thank You for all the evil hide lessons and your friendship. Rustynails

Maznroll- As you may know, I worked with Larry at Byerly's for many years in the meat department, and that's where we made a connection. We found out we liked the same things in life, and after we both retired we found one more thing, and that was Geocaching. How that started was that he called me one day in January, 2009 and asked if I knew what Geocaching was? So I told him I did know and that I had found a few back in 2004 & 2005. But now it was 2009 when he called me and if it wasn't for Larry calling me that day I probably wouldn't of met all of you fine people thru Geocaching or knew what an "Event" meant and lots of other related questions about Geocaching. So on that day in January we met in west Bloomington, strapped on the snow shoes and away we went to make many finds that day. We have been going strong ever since. Thanks Butcher and Swimmer and thanks for that phone call. Randy & Kathy Roehl "Maznroll"

TonkaMn- It's always nice caching with Larry and Linda, since they are always willing to help you find a cache or solve a puzzle. Working "In the middle of Butcher Country" I started geocaching by finding a lot of their hides. Their hides are always well done and they never seem to have two of the same type of hide. You can tell they have quality hides by the number of favorite points received. They are rated #13 in the state in favorite points received, which is quite high for someone with only 82 hides. I remember going back numerous times before I finally spotted "Walk by Me". I have never seen another cache like that. They are a huge asset to the geocaching community and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on the milestone and thank them for all that they do for this sport. Larry's burgers are one of the highlights of every Spring and Fall event. I hope to celebrate your 20,000th with you as well. tonkaMN

Piker-Herta and I have enjoyed caching and being with Larry and Linda every time we have been with them. Way back when we were newbies they invited us to a get-together at their place and clued us in to finding another type of cache that had stumped us. One of the best days caching with them was when they invited us to get a Wherigo "Survivor". We finished that day with seven different cache icon types. They are a special couple. We really appreciate them. Bob and Herta

KRedEP-I have many memories of Butcher and Swimmer to share, but this earliest memory is what sticks out most - his evil hides! Sometimes the hides are very straight forward, and you get your confidence up, and then you get taken for a ride on the next cache. I remember in particular a cache years ago (I thought it was L'll Cubby but upon further research today I realize that isn't it) where I was trying for FTF by myself. I endured an extended downpour and was completely drenched while looking. I must have looked like a crazy lunatic hanging out. Butcher stopped by A COUPLE OF TIMES to see how I was doing, and was quite dumbstruck that I wasn't finding it. That gives you a clue as to "L's" finding skills. But no hints on an FTF! I kept thinking it would be in the next spot I looked - and once you've invested all that time you don't want to stop! Eventually, after hours of searching, another cacher came along and found after a relatively short search. Sometimes you can't see the forest through the trees! I've since gotten to know Butcher and Swimmer and have spent many hours caching with them and sharing stories. Both are kind and great people.

Smiling Duo- Can't remember the first time I met Larry (butcher), but it most likely would have been at weeknight caching. One night comes to mind - we were all walking to the cache, when we took time out to go sliding down a huge slide, that was on the way. Larry happens to be one of the few cachers that the other half of the Duo (who doesn't like caching) has met - and he thought highly of him, but then who wouldn't. I'm glad that Linda (swimmer), finally retired so she could join us caching. Fun, fun people that I'm honored to know. Congrats on 10,000 finds!

Fens-There has been may fun instances while caching with butcher and swimmer One time Kari and I were going for a first to find, we heard somebody stopping around in the bushes, we called out and Butcher answered, we began to look for it together. Looked for an hour or soo. and gave up, because we were all heading out for a weeknight caching group. Butcher came back later i think the next day and got the first to find. Then One time Swimmer tells me about the monday morning caching crew, i just happened to have that monday off and was able to tag along. that was really fun.
