Although Flin Flin is officially a City (perhaps Canada's smallest) many of the locals identify with the neighbourhood they grew up in. For the most part each neighbourhood had it's own school, outdoor hockey rink, baseball diamond, curling rink or recreation area or park where not only good friends, but lifelong friendships were made.
This series includes caches in Channing, Mile 84, Birchview, Willowvale, Ross Lake, Lakeside, Uptown, South Hudson and just for the fun of it our good neighbour to the west , Creighton, and for all those living in the lake areas surrounding Flin Flon - Cottage Country (perhaps the theme for another series - anyone up to the challenge!)
RW(he) over the years has lived in the Uptown, Creighton, South Hudson, Willowvale, Birchview, Uptown (again), and Lakeside neighbourhoods; and finally retired to Cottage Country. He took his first 6 years of his schooling in Willowvale and completed the next 6 in Birchview (yes, there was once a high school in Birchview). RW(she), on the other hand, has lived in the Uptown, Lakeside and Cottage Country nieghbourhoods and completed all 12 years of her schooling in the Uptown area (yes, there was once a high school Uptown).
As you might imagine, we would have lots of neighbourhood stories to tell - perhaps you would like to share some of yours as you visit the various caches in this series.
